Life Skills Training:
Get a Job and Keep It!

Life Skills Graduation - August, 1999

NCSL's Awakening New Futures Life Skills is a core program within NCSL.  This highly successful workshop offers the keys to get and keep a job. Over 60% of Life Skills graduates obtain employment. For some, this will be their first real job, whether they are 22... or 52.

The one-week, 40-hour Life Skills Workshops are extremely popular with jail inmates, ex-offenders and homeless persons. The Workshops are held both in the jail and in post-release facilities.

A Life Skills graduation is always a moving, joyful time of celebration.

Components of the program include reviewing and releasing past history, and enhancing motivation, self-esteem, conflict resolution, team building, and how to find and keep a job.

After graduation, NCSL provides follow-up support, including on-going referrals and retention strategies.
