![]() NCSL's pre-release staff, interns, and volunteers work within San Francisco Jail providing meaningful social services, support, and intervention to prisoners. We are a direct channel for communication between inmates and their attorneys, families, employers, social service and treatment providers, and other elements of the criminal justice system. Additionally, we provide substance abuse counseling, Life Skills Workshops, tutoring, parenting classes, women's support groups, art classes, contact baby visits to maintain family ties, a mother-child Christmas party, and an all-jail Christmas concert. Creative expression is promoted by publication of inmate art and poetry in the newsletters A Rose in A Cage, and The Can Opener. Our Pre-Release Office is located in Room
116, on the first floor of the San Francisco Hall of Justice
at 850 Bryant Street, between 6th and 7th. The office is open
from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Please drop by,
or call (415)552-9250, or e-mail
us, if you have a question about our services, or to leave a
message for an inmate. |
