Direct Re-entry services for parolees:
Cameo House is a transitional housing program for homeless ex-offender women with children ages 0-6 years. Our goal is to unify each woman with one or two of her youngest children and to provide help for reunifications with other children. Residents are allowed to live at Cameo House six to nine months while they remain in good standing with the program. Cameo House offers a host of support services. Our case management team focuses on providing the following on-site services: Treatment plan, recovery skills, relapse prevention, independent living skills, anger management, health workshops, creative writing workshops, money management, nutrition education, counseling, parenting workshops, child reunification as well as a transition plan to independent living.

The Residential Multi Services Center (RMSC) provides housing, substance abuse services and independent living skills to as-risk parolees to assist in their transition and adjustment back into the community. As a licensed residential facility, RMSC will services to both adult male and female parolee participants. The length of stay will be up 180 days. On a case-by-case basis, some participants may have an extension in the program for up to one year with prior written approval from the RMSC parole agent liaison.
Other RMSC services include but are not limited to the following: (1) Provide effective casework management, including individual case assessments, development of services/treatment plans, development of discharge plans which shall include independent community living arrangements and aftercare; (2) Provide on-site counseling and referral services including but not limited to substance abuse counseling, life skills, employment development, literacy, medical services, transition to independent living and aftercare services.

Clean Slate provides free expungement services for persons who have been convicted of felony or misdemeanor offenses where probation was imposed. Clean Slate provides free legal representation for filing petitions for Certificates of Rehabilitation for persons who have been convicted of felonies and committed to state prison. Please note that there is a seven-year waiting period for state prison commitments from the date of release.

This program serves as a special admissions program for ex-offenders that want to go to college. We are also a Project 20 site for pre trial court diversion. The main goal of this organization is to admit full time students to San Francisco State University who have previous criminal histories and are motivated to succeed in a field of study that will lead to a degree. We do college assessment while still incarcerated by way of mail. Once students are admitted they will have the benefit of the following:
· Being counseled on creating a balance between class responsibilities and the responsibilities of parole or probation
· Being assisted in their transition from lock down institution to dealing with the restrictions of parole/probation while going to school.
· Being acclimate and advise as new students to the rules of the educational institution

Direct Re-entry Services for Parolees:
The BOPS/Second Chance Program at City College of San Francisco is a support program designed to recruit, enroll, retain, and transfer ex-offenders to baccalaureate institutions by providing academic, career and personal counseling, and a web of other support services that help insure the success of the students enrolled in the Second Chance Program. We recognize the unique status and needs of individuals on probation and parole, or recently released from either. We operate from the premise that education is vital to self-empowerment, and is a mechanism to reduce the rate of recidivism in the ex-offender population.
Additional services include orientation to college, priority registration, individualized tutoring, a book service program, financial aid advising and workshops, help applying for fee waivers, transportation assistance, and meal card that allows the client to eat at the cafeteria.

Five Keys Charter School, a model for Restorative Justice Education, delivers a customized education that will enable current and former prisoners to earn a high school diploma, stay out of jail, and become gainfully employed. Five Keys Charter School has small class sizes, can offer independent study programs to meet the needs of working students, can help students prepare to take GED tests where applicable, uses computer based programs to help students strengthen skills. Credit is given for completion of Phase One and Two of the following programs: Roads to Recovery (substance abuse), Sister (substance abuse for women) and Resolve to Stop the Violence (RSVP)

The program is designed to help the clients learn to identify and address issues that caused them to become addicted. Various forms of counseling, classes and group sessions, are a part of the curriculum to move the client towards responsibility and accountability. Outpatient, as well as residential services are available. Some services include anger management, relapse prevention, and the disease of addiction. Referrals to psychiatric and medical professionals are done as needed.

A Woman’s Place can help with placements for HIV positive women parolees. Clients can reside in their transitional housing component for up to 18 months. Substance abuse services are available for up to 120 days. The program also provides drop in services, to include crisis intervention for rape/domestic violence and mental health referrals

A teaching facility for University of California, San Francisco providing inpatient, outpatient and emergency services for the residents of San Francisco. Licensed for 550 beds, SFGH offers acute inpatient care in the areas of general medicine, AIDS care, surgery, critical care, women and children services, and psychiatry. Outpatient services are provided through over 100 primary care, specialty care, and subspecialty care clinics. These clinics are organized under the general services of Medicine, Surgical Specialties Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Family Practice. Emergency services are available 24 hours a day. SFGH is the designated trauma center for the West Bay counties.

Residential Treatment facility that provides substance abuse, vocational services, and community referrals to parolees in San Francisco. Eligibility requirements are that you must be a resident of San Francisco, be on State Parole, and referred through the Bay Area Services Network(BASN). Services include individual and group counseling. Relapse prevention classes along with drug education classes. Psychiatry and therapy referrals are done on a needed basis. Vocational Services and outside workshops are frequently provided by outside entities. The normal period of services is 180 days.

Direct Re-entry services for parolees: Awakening New Futures Life Skills and Job Placement Workshop.
Life Skills is one of the many programs of the Northern California Service League that provides a variety of rehabilitative and social services to persons in and recently released from jail or prison. Our goal is to reduce crime through programs that can help offenders and ex-offenders become responsible citizens. Our 40 hour Life Skills Training Workshop, a cognitive behavioral model, consists of: life assessment ‘who am I’, skills, interests, and abilities inventory. It also focuses on creating a positive vision of oneself, targeting clear goals for the future, motivation and confidence building, communication skills enhancement, problem-solving, stress reduction, conflict resolution, personal poise development, job finding tools and techniques, application procedures, resume writing, job interview practice and follow-up job counseling.
Priority will be given to ex-offenders. No current substance abuse problems, a serious attitude towards employment and a strong desire for change.

Direct Re-entry Services for Parolees:
A weekly orientation for newly released parolees is held at parole where community resources are described and connections are encouraged. The PACT (Police and Corrections Team) program is a collaboration of state parole, and various service providers from the community that have united in an effort to better serve the parolee with resources. The program consists of community resource coordinators that provide the parolee with information and assistance in addressing barriers that hinder a smooth transition from prison into the community. Referrals are frequently made to other community based organizations to address needs that range from homelessness, substance abuse, to training opportunities.

At Goodwill, every job is dedicated to creating solutions to poverty. We do this by creating jobs, helping people move forward o their career paths and preserving the environment through re-use and recycling. Whether your passion is truck driving, counseling, production, retail sales or accounting, we have opportunities available. Our programs serve people overcoming barriers to employment, such as long-term welfare dependence, physical and mental disabilities, homelessness, histories of incarceration or substance abuse, and limited English skills. Transitional employment is a seven-month program combining paid work experience at Goodwill’s retail, operations or administrative divisions with classroom training and support services. Our goal is to place our participants in or administrative divisions with classroom training and support Services. Our goal is to place or participants in jobs that are successful for both the employer and employee and move graduates into sustainable careers.

Employment needs are addressed through the PEP program, (Parolee Employment Program). This program consists of 3-hour workshops that are done twice weekly, where the parolee is provided with the necessary tools to make acquiring employment a very doable task. Tools range from preparing resumes, conducting mock interviews, assistance in preparing job applications, as well as providing motivational suggestions to the parolee. Following the workshop, the parolee is matched with an employment specialist for job placement. Follow-up is provided for 180 days.

Recreation & Park has a youth employment program for ages 14 17. We hire youth from all backgrounds citywide. When a youth applies and has been incarcerated, we get a release from the Probation Officer. Because we deal with a large number of youth, we do not take people with sexual assault convictions or highly violent felonies.

The Metropolitan Fresh Start Program is a six-month (or longer) faith based transitional and outpatient program designed for men struggling with life’s problems. The program is designed to provide progressive rehabilitation based on time tested social model programs. The program guise all residents on a path to successfully re-enter into the main stream of society where they can become productive to their families and their communities. Positive Directions Equals Change is a grassroots organization, certified by the State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs to offer drug and alcohol treatment based on 12-Step recovery principles, combined with non-traditional treatment modalities that address the whole individual. We provide highly disciplined yet supportive program, which seeks to provide individuals with the necessary tools to become drug free and live a healthy lifestyle. These services include life skills/Re-socialization training, parenting education groups, anger management/violence prevention, relapse prevention, drug education, HIV/AIDS awareness, and harm reduction education.

The Parolee Service Center is a program that provides free services to parolees residing in San Francisco. Services range from housing assistance, referrals for substance abuse, employment assistance, and assistance with a number of other needs that parolee’s face when re-entering the community. Parolees can live at the facility for one-year rent free, along with receiving a wealth of other services absolutely free. Admission to the program is strictly voluntary, and the parolee is free to leave at any time, without fear of consequences.

Located on San Francisco’s Treasure Island, FOTEP is a residential center for women who have completed in-custody treatment. The program provides housing, substance abuse treatment, individual and family therapy, intensive case management services, childcare and children’s services, cooperative parenting programs, educational guidance, work readiness, employment training, job development, and job placement services for female parolees and female parolees with young, dependent children.
